Paro is a fascinating town with some great sightseeing opportunities; there are over 150 temples and monasteries in the vicinity, the most prominent being the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) which is perched in the mountains.
This Buddhist monastery was built by the site where Buddhist master Guru Rinpoche formerly meditated. The Jangtsa Dumtseg Lhakhang Temple is another must visit, which is built in the form of a stupa with stunning Buddhist iconography and many associated legends.
