Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, set in the beautiful Kashmir Valley. The panoramic hilltop Shankaracharya temple is another ancient landmark of Srinagar which is believed to be the site where famous Indian philosopher Adi Shankaracharya meditated.

Srinagar generally has a pleasant climate, but the best time to visit is between April and September. April marks the beginning of Kashmir’s summer season when the entire valley becomes filled with colourful flowers and blossoms.
